Pet Pride hosts first spay/neuter clinic for other rescue groups - August 2026

Pet Pride is fortunate to have our own surgical clinic, veterinary technicians, and volunteer veterinarians, so we do most of our spay and neuter surgeries and many other procedures in house. Other rescue groups, many of them exclusively foster-based or focused on TNVR, face long wait times and limited resources in a community with a critical need for low-cost spay and neuter services.

To help address the problem, Pet Pride hosted its first weeklong spay and neuter clinic for cats from other rescues. This incredible effort required a great deal of planning and coordination and hundreds of volunteer hours. Veterinarians and veterinary technicians from the community answered our call to work the surgery shifts. Our own staff and shelter volunteers shouldered the added work of the clinic while continuing to care for Pet Pride cats. Generous individuals and establishments donated food to keep everyone fueled.

By the end of the week, 105 cats and kittens from ten different rescue groups had been spayed and neutered. They will go on to enjoy healthier futures, never contributing to the heartbreaking cycle of reproduction, overpopulation, and suffering. The week was a powerful example of what community looks like: individuals sharing their time and talents, organizations supporting organizations, and everyone working together toward the same goal—helping more cats get the care they deserve.
