A no-kill sanctuary for cats

Our Mission

Pet Pride saves the lives of homeless cats in our community by providing sanctuary, medical care, and placement into forever homes.

Our Beliefs

Our work is guided by a belief that every cat deserves a loving, permanent home. Once a cat is admitted to Pet Pride, they stay with us for as long as it takes to find them a forever home.

We believe that no cat should be euthanized for want of a safe place to live and needed medical care. As a limited-intake, no-kill shelter, we do not euthanize cats in our care in order to make room for additional cats.

We believe that we are stronger when we partner with individuals and organizations to share knowledge, raise public awareness, and work together toward a world in which there are no more homeless cats.

Our History

Pet Pride was founded by dedicated cat rescuer Jacqueline Russel and beloved local veterinarian Stuart Gluckman. We have been a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization since 1977 and have had our own sanctuary and office building since 2000.

Guiding Principles

We will provide shelter and care for as many homeless cats as our space and resources allow.

We will always act in the best interests of the cats in our care. Their immediate and long-term physical, mental, and emotional welfare will be our number one priority.

We will partner with local veterinarians to provide the highest standard of health care and nutrition for our cats.

We will employ best practices in our adoption programs to ensure that each of our cats is placed in a loving, lifetime home.

We will help reduce cat homelessness in our community by spaying and neutering adult cats in our care.

We will advance the cause of animal welfare in our community by connecting people with reliable information about responsible cat ownership, cat health and behavior, care of community cats, and other topics relating to the humane treatment of all cats.

We will build and maintain a strong, collaborative network of organizations and individuals to maximize the effectiveness of our programs.
